Located in Preston, Bridgeway is a Young Disabled Unit (18 to 65) and provides both nursing and residential care for up to 29 residents registered with CQC:
- Nursing Care and respite, Residential Care
- Physical disability, Learning disability
- Young People in Transition to independent living: we will support you until your home in the community is ready for you to move into. Bridgeway can be a halfway house
- Bariatric support
- Acquired Brain Injury
- Korsakoff Syndrome
- Progressive degenerative conditions including:
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Huntington’s Disease
- Parkinson’s Disease
Personal Care
We take time to get to know our residents not just from a care point of view but on a personal level. We then tailor the care plans to ensure that they feel at home, safe, can be independent and enjoy activities or entertainment on offer as they wish. As a resident at Bridgeway their en-suite room becomes their personal space, and we encourage decoration and personalisation so that it feels quite simply like home. Bridgeway has communal lounges, a large dining room and a recently renovated and secluded courtyard for enjoying on those sunnier days.
Activities
We ensure that appropriate activities are available for the residents to enjoy both in the home and in the local community. Wheelchair users are also encouraged and helped to engage in daily activities inside and outside the home. We also own a specially adapted minibus for when we go out in the community or on holiday.
As expected, Bridgeway is fully equipped with hoists, slings and specialist equipment and all staff are fully trained in moving and handling residents who require assistance.
