The Holywell Group is a young, dynamic and growing organisation that operates mainly in the social care sector in the Lancaster and Preston areas. We employ about 125 staff and are an accredited Investor in People.

We seek an experienced, qualified Finance Administrator who will be responsible for the financial management and administration of the Holywell™ Group.

Person specification
The applicant must have a relevant qualification and experience in managing accounts, tax and VAT. You must be able to work with accounting software packages, such as Sage, and be able to prepare and present budgets, as required by our bankers, the group’s three companies, the directors or other staff, when required, especially for tenders. You must be able to work effectively within a small team of staff, where mutual support is vital to the achievement of the companies’ objectives. All staff are required to have full DBS clearance before starting work with us.

You will be Holywell’s first point of contact with our bankers, with financial officers of commissioning bodies, suppliers and our external accountants.

Main responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Bookkeeping
  • Preparation of quarterly management accounts
  • Budgeting and Planning
  • Cash management including reconciliation of all funds
  • Invoice management
  • VAT
  • Entry of all financial data in SAGE

In addition, your role will include a range of other duties as you will work with the management team and the Group’s directors. You will ensure that Holywell Care Services, Holywell Home, Bridgeway Care Home and Holywell Recruitment benefit from economies of scale in terms of services, suppliers and systems.

Terms and conditions

We are an ethical, equal opportunity employer and offer a competitive salary to the right candidate in the range of £21,000 to £25,000 per annum. The Holywell Group provides a statutory contributory pension scheme and supports personal and professional development of all staff.

We offer 28 days’ annual holiday, including public holidays but, in line with the demands of the company, all staff are required to be flexible and be prepared to work out of hours when the need arises.
